Mammoplasty

What is breast reduction surgery?
What is mammoplasty? Breast reduction surgery, also called reduction mammoplasty or breast reduction and lift, is a plastic surgical procedure that can reduce the size of the breasts and change their shape.

In the process, it also improves the shape of the breast and repositions the nipple-areola complex. It allows you to restore self-confidence and get rid of a number of complexes that interfere with normal, including intimate life.

Indications for mammoplasty
You may be considering reduction mammoplasty if you wish to change your appearance or if you have large breasts that are causing or contributing to:
1.    Extremely small size, asymmetry. If there is a disproportion compared to other parts of the body, breast plastic surgery is many times more effective than hormonal therapy aimed at increasing the mammary glands.
2.    Sagging breasts due to low collagen and elastin. As a result of aging changes and after pregnancy, the previous loss of breast elasticity is restored with a breast lift and a breast implant.
3.    Reconstruction after partial or total removal of mammary glands due to malignancy. At this time, the plastic surgeon restores the symmetrical shape before the operation.
4.    Oversized. Most women experience physical discomfort and complications from excess glandular and fatty tissue formation.
5.    Gynecomastia. Breast growth in men is abnormal and causes serious psychological problems for them. Surgical removal of excess mammary glands allows them to return to their former appearance.
Whether you wish to relieve discomfort or have your breasts reshaped for a more pleasing appearance, breast reduction can help.

Breast Reduction Costs
The price of mammoplasty can vary directly according to the type of mammoplasty, as well as the personal wishes and requirements of the patient, as well as the individual physiological characteristics of his body. To learn about mammoplasty prices, it is necessary to determine the type of mammoplasty to be performed first.

5 Types of Breast Implants
Surgery always has some risks. Therefore, it is necessary to carefully choose the appropriate clinic and specialist during preparation. How breast plastic surgery is performed depends on one or another aesthetic problem that is required to be solved. Thus, there are mainly the following types of mammoplasty:
1.    Breast augmentation
2.    Breast reduction (breast reduction)
3.    Breast lift (mastopexy)
4.    Reconstructive mammoplasty
5.    Correction of the tip-areola complex

Breast augmentation
Breast augmentation is performed to enhance the appearance, size, and contour of a woman's breasts. Women consider breast augmentation for many different reasons. Some women feel their breasts are too small. Some desire augmentation after their breasts change after pregnancy.

Others desire to correct an asymmetry in breast size. Under the name of sinus augmentation, they combine a number of manipulations related to implant placement. In the course of detailed medical examination and consultations, the plastic surgeon chooses the most suitable size and shape.

A quality product looks quite natural. It does not cause pain and does not need to be replaced again. The latest generation, as a rule, silicone gel implants are used in breast augmentation surgery.

The distinguishing feature of silicone implants is a barrier layer that prevents the deformation of the structure and the leakage of the filling into the surrounding tissues. The consistency of the gel differs in hardness and softness, which ensures reliable shape retention and a pleasant relief to the touch, which is considered suitable for a natural breast.

According to the structure, there are classic round and anatomical (drop-shaped) forms. Determining the most suitable option requires complex diagnostics and the study of the physiological characteristics of the patient's body. Breast augmentation is easy. However, during the rehabilitation period (1-3 months), it is required to strictly follow the doctor's instructions.

Breast reduction
If necessary, breast size reduction and breast shape correction are performed while maintaining the function of lactation. To shave a large amount of volume during breast reduction surgery, the plastic surgeon makes a T-shaped incision from the areola to the submammary fold, or a vertical incision for medium size.

Breast lift (mastopexy)
In some women, the skin is not strong or resilient enough to support the weight of the breast, causing the breasts to sag. Breast lift or mastopexy is a breast correction surgery performed when there are visible signs of breast sagging (ptosis).

A nipple lift improves the appearance of the mammary glands by moving the tip-areola complex slightly higher and resizing the areola. The use of various techniques makes it possible to successfully cope with breast sagging and other similar discomforts that occurred after pregnancy, with age, or as a result of sharp weight loss. The elasticity of the skin is restored while maintaining the normal volume.

Reconstructive mammoplasty
This type of manipulation is applied in connection with complete and partial removal of the mammary glands (mastectomy). The initial shaving procedure affects how the breast lift is performed. Recovery is possible immediately after the operation or after a certain period of time.

During this operation, natural and artificial fillings are applied. The material is the body's own tissues - autotransplants or gel implants made of silicone. A combined option is also possible.

Nipple–Areola Complex Reconstruction
This type of breast plastic surgery is popular not only among women, but also among men. With the help of small incisions, the plastic surgeon successfully corrects the diameter, shape, contour (edge), location of areolas and areolas. This type of operation involves intrusion of the nipple, absence of the nipple, etc. aimed at solving such problems.

What should be done before the operation?
At the first consultation, the doctor-surgeon answers all the patient's questions in detail, talks about the expected results and warns about possible complications. Before breast plastic surgery, it is required:
•    give a number of analyzes (blood from a finger, biochemistry, correlogram, AIDS, hepatitis, etc.);
•    undergo medical procedures (fluorography, USM, ECG);
•    consultation with relevant field specialists (therapist, gynecologist, mammologist).
•    A few days before the appointed time, it is recommended to keep a light diet, to give up alcohol and smoking.

How is mammoplasty done?
As soon as all the initial information is collected, the preparation process for the operation begins. First of all, the question of which type of anesthesia will be applied is decided. The vast majority of surgeons prefer general anesthesia. Because it allows thoughts to be concentrated entirely on the operation itself. In small manipulations or in cases of individual intolerance, local anesthesia with an intravenous sedative effect is applied.

The duration of mammoplasty can last from 30 minutes to 1.5 hours. A plastic surgeon can choose to perform incisions or implants based on several factors: indications, examination results, body constitution, etc. After completing the procedure, the wound is thoroughly cleaned and sutured.

Rehabilitation (recovery) period: recommendations and limitations
It is required to approach the end stage after the operation with all seriousness, properly following the recommendations of the specialist, coming to the examination on time, and taking the prescribed medicines. It usually takes about 6-9 months for the chest to take its full shape.
In order to avoid complications and possible complications, it is required:

Clean them with an antiseptic until they are removed or absorbed;
1-2 months to wear special compression underwear that keeps the chest in the right position and does not allow the implants to interfere;
Avoid going to the bath, sauna, solarium, SPA salon, swimming pool for 4-6 weeks;
Limiting physical exertion for two months. It is not recommended to raise the arms for the first few days.
