Abdominoplasty Tummy Tuck
Who is a good candidate?
An abdominoplasty tummy tuck is a body-contouring operation. It removes loose skin and tightens weakened abdominal muscles, but it is not a weight-loss procedure.
Men and women whose abdominal skin sags and does not respond to diet or exercise are candidates for this operation. Their overall body contours should still be sound.
This procedure is especially useful for women who have had several pregnancies. Their abdominal skin may have stretch marks and sag, and their abdominal muscles may have weakened.
Patients who intend to lose weight should postpone the operation. Women who plan to become pregnant in the future should also delay it.

How should you prepare before surgery?
During this period we will ask you to follow a few rules.
If you smoke, you should stop at least four weeks before the operation, or at least pause until two weeks after it.
Limit your time in the sun.
If you take vitamin E or aspirin, stop them before surgery.
Avoid strict diets beforehand.
A cold or any other infection may force the operation to be postponed.
What to expect after surgery?
For the first few days you may have swelling in the abdomen and pain that can be controlled with painkillers.
The drains are removed after 5 to 10 days, and the stitches after 1 to 3 weeks.
On average you will stay in the hospital for 1 to 3 days.
It may take a few months before you feel like yourself again.
You can return to work after 2 to 4 weeks.
The scar may look red or raised for the first 3 to 6 months, which is normal.
It can take 9 months to a year for the scar to flatten and fade.
Although it never disappears completely, the scar can be hidden under underwear.
Both mini and full abdominoplasty give excellent results when the abdominal muscles are weak and sagging.
